Dive into the heart of London during WWII with the new trailer for Blitz.

In World War II London, nine-year-old George is evacuated to the countryside by his mother, Rita, to escape the bombings. Defiant and determined to return to his family, George embarks on a journey back. Home as Rita searches for him.

Action drama Blitz is directed by Oscar and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen (12 years a Slave) and stars four-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan opposite newcomer Elliott Heffernan.

Cinesite provided approx 140 invisible VFX shots focusing on a 1940s London environment and Blitz bombing sequences, described by Empire magazine as, “conjuring all the flame and fury and chaos of the bombardment.”

Blitz will hit selected theaters on November 1 after premiering as the opening film of the BFI London Film Festival.
