We are thrilled to share that Cinesite will have a presence at this year’s Manchester Animation Festival (MAF), the UK’s premier celebration of animation!

From showcasing major feature animation on the big screen to tackling the future of the UK industry, our Head of Animation, Eamonn Butler, will be on the ground representing the studio throughout the festival.

Ray Gunn Takes the Big Screen

As part of MAF’s official programme, festivalgoers will have the chance to catch a special screening of Ray Gunn.

Animated by Cinesite for Skydance Animation and Netflix, the film represents an incredible artistic and technical milestone for our teams. Directed by the visionary Brad Bird, Ray Gunn blends retro-futuristic worldbuilding, hard-boiled noir storytelling, and cutting-edge feature animation. We can’t wait for audiences in Manchester to experience this extraordinary project in a festival cinema setting.

In Conversation: Scaling Up to Feature Animation

Beyond the screenings, Eamonn will take part in MAF’s dedicated industry day, the Animation Nation Forum, joining an expert panel titled ‘Animation Featured’.

Timed alongside the launch of the Animation Featured development programme by MAF and the BFI Creative Challenge Fund, the session focuses on the critical steps required for UK studios and producers to step up to the global feature film challenge.
