Zave is a London-based VFX supervisor with 25 years’ experience and an extensive roster of credits. Known for his wide ranging expertise in delivering invisible visual effects to full CG creatures and environments, his broad credits range from Bond films Skyfall and Spectre to sci-fi and fantasy series Lost in Space and The Wheel of Time.
Zave’s credits also include Apple TV series Hijack, starring Idris Elba, The Commuter (Studio Canal/Lionsgate) starring Liam Neeson, creating seamless action sequences with complex environments, destruction and crash simulations, and an array of productions across the Marvel universe including Academy Award VFX nominated Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War.
More recently, Zave supervised Cinesite’s underwater visual effects for the 2024 Amazon Prime fantasy series, Nautilus, and the complex creatures and environments featured in Netflix’s The Witcher Season 4, Cinesite’s fourth successive series contribution.
Zave studied 3D Design at Middlesex University in the early 1990s, during the formative years of digital post production, moving into software demonstration, beta-testing and training for leading editing and compositing packages. Having joined Mill Film in 2000, Zave’s compositing talents were quickly recognised and he was appointed as Head of Compositing at Skaramoosh before joining Cinesite in 2006, where he has become one of the studio’s most senior artists. Zave’s technical knowledge coupled with his keen eye for detail, on-set and supervisory experience make him a sought after VFX collaborator.
