CINESITE
Zave Jackson
VFX Supervisor

Zave is a London-based VFX supervisor with 25 years’ experience and an extensive roster of credits. He is one of Cinesite’s longest-serving and most senior artists. In 2025 he is overseeing for Cinesite’s London team the visual effects for the fourth season of Netflix’s The Witcher, the company’s fourth successive series contribution. Prior to that, Zave supervised Cinesite’s extensive underwater visual effects for the 2024 Amazon Prime fantasy series, Nautilus.

The series Hijack in 2023 provided an opportunity for Zave to move into the realm of high-octane thriller for the first time since serving as digital effects supervisor for The Commuter starring Liam Neeson, with another opportunity to create seamless action sequences with complex environments, crash simulations and FX.

In 2020, Zave oversaw the delivery of the HBO episodic, Avenue 5, with 400 shots across nine episodes, shared between Cinesite’s London and Montreal divisions. Zave’s keen eye for detail and measured approach towards delivering shots was recognised by the clients and led to his supervision on the subsequent 2022 season of the comedy, sci-fi series.

Zave’s 2D pipeline expertise was used to great effect on Black Widow, where he worked closely with the lighting, look development and compositing teams to deliver some exemplary shots. His experience has been invaluable for several Marvel shows, including Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War.

Zave was also the visual effects supervisor for Cinesite’s extensive work on Spectre. “I have always been a big fan of Bond films – they bring an extra level of excitement,” says Zave. “The opportunity to be on set and take on a senior role in creating the invisible effects is a definite career highlight for me.”

Zave studied 3D Design at Middlesex University back when visual effects were still emerging, moving into software demonstration, training and beta-testing high-end software packages. His compositing talents were soon recognised and he moved over to the production side, joining Cinesite in 2006 as a compositor. Zave progressed through the ranks to compositing supervisor and subsequently visual effects supervisor, a position where his software knowledge and training experience combine perfectly with his creative hands-on approach.
