Jakob Lundbye
Visualisation Lead

Jakob is responsible for managing teams and facilitating interoperability between departments and workflows in his role as Visualisation Lead at Cinesite. His expertise spans the broad scope of Real-Time, Previs, Postvis & Visual Effects; developing new workflows and tools to smooth the flow of production. Jakob has overseen a range of productions including The Midnight Sky (Academy Award nominated for VFX) and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical.
In addition to Jakob’s visualisation expertise, he is an accomplished VFX Generalist across all areas of 3D and 2D, with an MA in Digital Effects from the prestigious National Film & Television School. Jakob has a wealth of on-set & location experience, utilising photogrammetry techniques to capture real-world data. His on set credits include Daniel Espinosa’s Morbius, which included Techvis & Virtual Production for complex action sequences, Borderlands, The One and Only Ivan, Robin Hood and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was a particular career highlight for Jakob. “This project marked my introduction to Unreal Engine for post-viz rendering. We transformed Newt’s basement within a challenging time frame, pioneering a pipeline integrating Maya, Unreal, and Nuke.”
Over the years, Jakob has worked to develop workflows for Postvis, enabling filmmakers to quickly build their edits with shots that are considerably closer to the final image.
A passion for continuous growth in his work and a strong collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues alike, Jakob is always pushing himself and his team to create the finest work possible.
