We were delighted to see our teams’ work for ‘True Detective Night Country’ recognised with an Emmy nomination – in the ‘Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode’ category.

True Detective Night Country

Mysterious disappearances and weird phenomena set the scene for the latest season of True Detective: Night Country. The 6-episode HBO series is set in the chilly permanent “night country” of Alaska, where detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Keli Reis) are tasked with unravelling the dark history of a remote town on the edge of the US’s northern-most state. Night Country is directed by Issa López, and studio VFX supervisor is Barney Curnow. As the main visual effects vendor, much of Cinesite’s work serves to enhance the haunting atmosphere at the heart of the series. Indeed, the mysterious series opening sequence was one of our most challenging.
