Rob Neal
Editor

With over two decades of post-production expertise, Rob Neal is Lead Editor and Head of Editorial for Feature Animation at Cinesite’s Montreal studio. As a key member of the original creative team there, he oversees the editorial department and manages the post-production pipeline for multiple animated feature films. Collaborating closely with directors, producers, and artists, he shapes compelling stories efficiently and has played a vital role in developing proprietary editorial and production workflows tailored to the studio’s evolving needs.

Rob earned his B.F.A. in Film/Drama, graduating cum laude from Syracuse University. His formal education, combined with extensive hands-on experience, has given him a strong foundation in both creative storytelling and technical editorial processes. Before joining Cinesite, he worked on major Hollywood productions with Prana Studios in Los Angeles and Stereo D (Deluxe Animation), conducting high-level editorial reviews on films like Thor: The Dark World and The Wolverine.

His work spans numerous critically and commercially successful projects—including The Addams Family, The Star, and SpongeBob SquarePants 2—all of which have garnered significant industry recognition. Among his notable achievements are leading the editorial team on HITPIG!, a complex, large-scale animated feature, and helping design and implement a proprietary editorial pipeline at Cinesite.

Outside of work, Rob is passionate about storytelling and collaboration, with interests spanning music, sound design, theatre, and personal video and animation projects. He is also dedicated to mentoring emerging editorial talent and advancing the craft within the studio. Outside the creative sphere, Rob loves combat sports and actively practices boxing and Muay Thai.
