As Head of Characters for Cinesite Feature Animation, Ramiro Gomez oversees the entire character pipeline, from initial design to final on-screen pixel. He’s responsible for realising clients’ visions and guiding all departments involved with characters across Cinesite’s projects.
With over 31 years of animation experience, Ramiro’s strengths lie in team building, resource allocation, project management, and artistic direction. A graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design, his career includes nearly a decade at Walt Disney Feature Animation, where he trained over 1000 artists during the studio’s 3D transition. He was also a rigging lead on Chicken Little, a role he considers a proud catalyst for his successful career.
Ramiro’s extensive resume includes significant roles at Sony Pictures Imageworks, Laika, Double Negative (DNEG), and Image Engine, contributing to films and shows like Surf’s Up, John Carter, Logan, and Game of Thrones. Before joining Cinesite, he built and led the character team at DNEG Montreal.
Now at Cinesite, Ramiro finds his current position the most rewarding, as he leads the studio’s character future supported by a talented team. He values the relationships and camaraderie within his teams, which are the core of his passion for the industry. Outside of work, Ramiro enjoys photography and woodworking.
