Adel loves nothing better than watching animated films, and analysing how colour, lighting, style and movement have all been used to achieve the tone and emotion of a scene. “Whatever the medium, it is inspiring when an idea is well crafted with particular attention to detail.”

With over 20 years working in VFX and Animation, many of which as a Lighting TD, Adel has an exceptional eye for lighting as well as extensive experience in collaborating across multiple departments at the heart of the creative process. In 2025, Adel embarked on the Skydance production Ray Gunn, directed by Brad Bird.

Adel’s previous credits include Avatar, Hotel Transylvania, The Addams Family, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Iwájù. A career highlight for him was working with director Mark Osbourne on the animated fantasy adventure The Little Prince.
