Cinesite 2025

A YEAR IN REVIEW

As 2025 draws to a close, we want to say a massive thank you to our teams, clients and followers for supporting us along the way.

With releases including The Lost Bus, Warfare, and the latest Witcher series, delivering the animated movie Animal Farm, launching our AI unit, launching our new website, and more recently, our immersive division’s jolly Santa, it has been a good one!

We’ve compiled some highlights from the past year here below, to look back on.

Printworks Festive Ceiling
Our immersive team partnered with Manchester shopping centre Printworks, to launch their 2025 Christmas campaign, using their 1000m2 LED ceiling, the largest of its kind in Europe.
The Witcher: season 4
The Witcher's latest season, with new lead Liam Hemsworth, released on Netflix at the end of October. Amongst other sequences, Cinesite delivered the series opener; a Kikimora swamp battle which reprised our opening of the very first Witcher episode.
Warfare
We won a British Independent Film Award for Best Effects, for the unflinching drama Warfare. Cinesite VFX supervisor Simon Stanley-Clamp oversaw the creation of 200 invisible visual effects for the intense cinematic experience.
The Lost Bus
Described in Deadline as "rendered with stunning ease.. in scenes that look like a news bulletin from the apocalypse," our VFX team, led by VFX supervisor Max Dennison, delivered a range of invisible, atmospheric visual effects for The Lost Bus.
Animal Farm Arriving 2026
Animal Farm is officially heading to Angel Studios for theatrical release in 2026. Audiences will soon be able to meet the barnyard characters and experience the world Cinesite has created, for this Orwell classic.
Industry Recognition
Cinesite was included in the first edition of Europe's Long-Term Growth Champions 2025 by the Financial Times and Statista, in recognition of our strong, consistent and sustainable organic growth over the past decade.
The Smurfs
From the Smurf universe to the real-world beyond, Cinesite’s visual effects and animation teams in Montreal and Vancouver brought the lovable and iconic blue characters to life in their latest adventure.
TechX Launch
TechX, Cinesite's dedicated Generative AI technology exploration unit, launched in May, focused on researching and developing Gen AI solutions to enhance & streamline content creation. Our Gen AI lead Andy McNamara has been a key speaker on the topic of AI over the past year.
Michael
Our Montreal team delivered VFX for this highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic, releasing Spring 26. Having delivered VFX for the Elton John biopic Rocketman and Respect, the story of Aretha Franklin, we're well established in the field of musical biopics!
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, which hits screens on 19th December, is a wild, ghostly adventure – funny, goofy, and full of SpongeBob spirit. We brought the real-world sections of the film to life and you can spot some of our shots in the first 10 seconds of the trailer!
