Spotlight on Cinesite’s sewing club: a hand-stitched story!

Driven by the world of cosplay, Jennifer, Technical Production Manager in Pipeline, has been handcrafting her own costumes for over 15 years. She now shares her passion for sewing with the studio’s employees, making this creative and hands-on activity accessible to Cinesite.

Over the span of five sessions, participants learn basic techniques by completing several projects: a pincushion, a coaster, a fabric-lined box, and a canvas tote bag. The group, ranging from 25 to 17 participants, is mostly made up of beginners, but also includes more experienced individuals who contribute to a spirit of mutual support.

Each session begins with a theoretical introduction and a presentation of the project, followed by Jennifer providing one-on-one guidance to each participant. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed: everyone progresses at their own pace, and this shared moment helps build connections across departments.

Beyond the technical learning, hand sewing helps extend the life of clothing, reduce waste, stimulate creativity, and offer a calming moment that fosters social interaction.

Given the enthusiasm and success of this club, the course will be offered again in 2026, with the possibility of introducing two levels to welcome both beginners and those wishing to continue improving their skills.
