With over two decades of VFX industry experience, Jonathan Bowen has become a powerhouse in the field, combining technical expertise with an inspiring creative vision that is reshaping Cinesite’s project landscape. Since joining the company in April 2024, Jonathan has seamlessly guided teams through complex technical challenges, transforming ambitious ideas into visually stunning realities and setting new standards for excellence.

At DNEG, where he previously served as VFX Supervisor for over five years, Jonathan contributed his talent to blockbusters like The Lost City, Death on the Nile, Uncharted, and Wonder Woman 1984, delivering highly impactful visuals that merged innovation with storytelling. Known for his unwavering attention to detail and creative drive, he continuously pushed his team to surpass expectations, creating compelling cinematic moments that resonate on a global scale.

Jonathan’s career foundation was built as a senior compositor at Weta Digital and ILM, where he contributed to iconic projects such as Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Deadpool, and The Great Wall. These experiences shaped his collaborative leadership style and furthered his expertise in compositing, equipping him to inspire large, cross-functional teams even in high-pressure environments.

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Master’s in Computer Visualisation and Animation from Bournemouth University, Jonathan possesses a unique fusion of technical precision and artistic insight.
