Holger Voss, Visual Effects Supervisor
Holger’s technical knowledge is integral to Cinesite creating innovative, made to measure visual effects for every production it works on. On a day-to-day basis, he oversees the VFX supervisors and 3D supervisors in addition to managing decisions regarding software infrastructure and pipeline, in conjunction with Cinesite’s CTO.
Holger oversaw Marvel’s episodic series Moon Knight, having previously delivered MGM’s Aretha Franklin biopic Respect and most recently Universal’s comedy feature, Strays. Other productions Holger has overseen for Cinesite include Locke & Key, Lost in Space Season 2, on set supervision for Netflix feature Murder Mystery and Paramount’s BAFTA nominated Elton John biopic, Rocketman, for which he was production VFX supervisor.
Having initially studied Computer Media Science in Stuttgart in 1998, Holger gained valuable industry experience in motion capture and Technical Direction, progressing through the ranks to become a lead TD. In 2008 he was awarded an Emmy for his work on the HBO series Generation Kill. Other productions for which he performed senior TD roles include Skyfall, John Carter and The Golden Compass. He was also the CG supervisor for Iron Man 3 and digital effects supervisor for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
Since 2014, Holger’s expertise has expanded into visual effects supervision. Having overseen Robocop and X-Men: Days of Future Past for the London team, he moved to Montreal, supervising San Andreas and Independence Day: Resurgence.
