Holidays 2023

An extraordinary year has come to an end and despite challenging times, 2023 was another successful year for us. We are honoured to have had the trust and confidence of our clients and the unwavering support of our talented artists & technicians throughout 2023.

As we close our year, we’d like to shine a light on some of the biggest stories from the past twelve months.

In May, the Cinesite group invested in The Imaginarium Studios, a top-tier Performance Capture and Virtual Production company located at Pinewood Studios in the UK and Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

After crafting terrifying creatures like Basilisks, Chernobog, Kikimora, and Striga in previous seasons and earning a BAFTA for our work on Season 2, we faced the challenge of creating even weirder and more horrifying creatures for the latest season.

Among our proudest achievements are The Aeschna, a massive-jawed sea monster, the deadly Flesh Monster, and the enchanting Ring of Fire.

Cinesite played a crucial role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, delivering 21.5 minutes of animation across 20 sequences. Over 11 months, our Montreal and Vancouver teams successfully rebooted the iconic reptilian quadruplets for another thrilling adventure in the animated world of New York City.

Cinesite was the first studio to work on a Walt Disney Animation Studios project outside of Disney. Earlier this year we delivered Iwaju in collaboration with Pan-African entertainment company Kugali, the series is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2024.

We are proud to have earned the trust of top directors this year!

Cinesite is working on the upcoming Smurfs feature film, which is the first project from the new creative partnership between Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Animation, LAFIG Belgium and IMPS, the company that owns the Smurfs brand.

Production is underway, and our Vancouver studio is recruiting talent across artist & technician posts.

The human impact of world events continues to affect lives and families so this Christmas we will continue to do our bit to give something back to those affected by these tough times. Once again, as we did last Christmas, rather than giving gifts, Cinesite will be donating to the Red Cross, to support those in need.
